The Jacob sheep (also Jacob sheep, four or more horn sheep) is probably derived from Asia Minor, now common in the UK sheep . It takes its name from the Bible , according to which the shepherd Jacob received the spotted animals for his flock (Genesis 30: 25–43) or bred them.

The special thing about the Jacob sheep are the mostly four horns and the spotted fur. It is one of the few sheep breeds in which the females also have horns. The Jacob sheep is - like all sheep - a herbivore and mainly eats grass, leaves and tree bark. It lives an average of 15 years.

Jacob's sheep, like all sheep, are herd animals. With the females a stable herd forms, with the males the horde is arranged hierarchically (according to age and size of the horns).

During the mating season, the bucks meet the Zibben , which sometimes leads to fights between the males.
