James R. Norris

James Ritchie Norris (* 1960 ) is a British mathematician who studies stochastics .

Norris received his PhD from Cambridge University in 1985 with David Albert Edwards (Malliavin Calculus). He was a post-doctoral student at Swansea University , became a lecturer at Cambridge in 1985 and a fellow at Churchill College. In 2005 he became Professor of Statistics and he is Director of the Statistical Laboratory in Cambridge.

Norris received the Rollo Davidson Prize in 1997 .
