Jamim Noraim

Jamim Noraim (Eng .: awe-inspiring days ) is the name for the high holidays of Judaism, i.e. the holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur . Often with Jamim Noraim the ten days of repentance (Hebrew: עשרת ימי )ובה), d. H. in addition to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the days in between. Furthermore, Jamim Noraim can refer to the entire 40-day period of penance from the first ( Rosh Chodesh ) of the month of Elul to Yom Kippur.
