history
The park corresponds to a project by the architect I. Rudenko in the middle of the 20th century. Before the Second World War, there were several wooden buildings on the site that were destroyed in the first days of the German-Soviet War . Among the destroyed buildings was Janka Kupala's house, which he lived in from 1927 to 1941. In 1959 the Janka Kupala Literature Museum was opened at the park, which is supposed to restore the atmosphere of the destroyed house.
At the beginning there was a monument to the Soviet major Sjarhej Gryzavets in the center of the park , which was later moved. In 1972, a monument to Janka Kupala was erected.
