The Japan Robot Association (JARA) is an important association for industrial companies in the robotics sector based in Tokyo (Japan).

history

The association was founded in 1971 as Industrial Robot Conversatione . In 1972 it was renamed and reorganized as the Japan Industrial Robot Association (JIRA). Since the association's area of ​​responsibility does not only extend to industrial robots, the name was changed to Japan Robot Association (JARA) in 1994 .

Main activities

JARA's activities are diverse. On the one hand, principles and visions for the robot industry are developed and defined, and standardization measures are set in the robotics sector. On the other hand, the promotion of the robot-producing industry and market research are also part of JARA's area of ​​responsibility.

Members

JARA's list of members includes numerous well-known and multinational industrial groups. This also includes the European robot manufacturers ABB , KUKA AG and Stäubli.
