The Japanese Senate can refer to:

  • Genrōin (1875–1890), appointed proto-parliamentary assembly in Japan with an advisory role in the legislature
  • Kizokuin (1890-1947), the majority appointed or hereditary Japanese upper house under the Meiji constitution
  • Sangiin (from 1947), the elected Japanese House of Lords under the post-war constitution
