history

Jefferson Wells, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA), was founded in 1995 as an alternative to the classic Big Four audit firms for consulting services in internal auditing. From the start, the company relied on methods that were later made mandatory by the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. The growth of Jefferson Wells consequently experienced significant growth above all through the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the associated strict regulatory requirements for the internal control systems of companies listed in the USA.

Unlike accounting firms, Jefferson Wells does not issue attestations and thereby avoids conflicts of interest. The minimum requirement for joining the company is seven years of practical work experience in auditing or industry.
