Jens Christoffers (* 1966 ) is a German chemist and professor of organic chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

Life

He studied chemistry from 1986–1992 at the Philipps University of Marburg and graduated first with a diploma thesis (1992) and then a doctoral thesis (1994) in Karl Heinz Dötz's group . After a postdoctoral stay with Robert Bergman from 1995–1996, he completed his habilitation with Siegfried Blechert at the Technical University of Berlin from 1996–2000 . His activity as a university lecturer began in 2001 at the University of Stuttgart before he moved to the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg as a professor (W3) in 2006 .

Research areas

One of Jens Christoffers' main research areas is the asymmetric synthesis of quaternary carbon atoms.

Publications and patents

Jens Christoffers has authored over 175 publications in specialist journals and articles in books and is the owner or co-owner of several patents.
