Jes Rust
Jes Rust (* 1963 ) is a German paleontologist (invertebrate paleontology).
Life
Rust studied geology, palaeontology and zoology in Göttingen and Kiel. In 1999 he completed his habilitation in Göttingen (biology of insects from the oldest tertiary in Northern Europe). He has been Professor of Paleontology at the University of Bonn since 2001 .
He deals with the systematics, phylogeny and paleobiology of arthropods and insects and, under general theoretical aspects, insects from the Middle Eocene , conservation deposits , paleobiology of molluscs and the evolution of sea urchins.
From 2007 to 2009 he was President of the Paleontological Society .
