Jesús de Tavarangüe , located in the southeast of Paraguay about 10 km northwest of Trinidad , is a former Jesuit reduction in the district of Jesús .

The village was founded in 1685 - it was not until 1763 that Jesuits settled there. An imposing church with sacristy, baptismal font and houses was built by them. Soon after the establishment, however, the Jesuits were ousted and the mission abandoned. The adjacent village, however, still exists today and has around 2500 inhabitants.

In 1993 Ruins of Jesús de Tavarangue was together with the Jesuit Reduction La Santisima Trinidad de Paraná by the UNESCO for World Heritage declared.
