Jet dragster
As a jet car will Dragster called that instead of a piston engine , a jet engine used as a drive.
The engines usually come from fighter jets and are equipped with afterburners . They have very different performances, usually it is around 10,000 HP, whereby around 8 liters of kerosene are consumed per second. In car dragsters, the engine is installed in the middle of the vehicle and is located directly next to the driver, which can often lead to serious injuries (e.g. burns ) in the event of technical faults . This particular form of dragster is also called a jetfunnycar.
In the case of truck dragsters, on the other hand, up to three engines are located behind the driver's cab. The driver is much better protected here.
The "car dragsters" achieve a force of up to 5 G when accelerating, which acts on the driver and -8 G when braking with a double brake parachute.
