Jidokwan

Jidokwan is the name of a leading style in Korean Taekwondo . The word is not to be translated in one, but has to be divided into its three syllables. Ji comes from the Chinese - Korean root word and means "wisdom". Do comes from the Japanese- Korean root word and means "way", in this case "spiritual way" or "way of the spirit". Kwan is the Korean word for school. In this context, Jidokwan can be translated as “school of the way of wisdom” or “school of the wise way”.
