Joachim Ringelnatz Association

The Joachim-Ringelnatz-Verein eV is a non-profit organization that operates throughout Germany and is based in Wurzen .

The association was founded in Wurzen in 1992. It promotes the publicity of the life and work of Hans Gustav Bötticher alias Joachim Ringelnatz in the entire German-speaking area. The association has been running the Ringelnatz birthplace in Wurzen since 2016 , where it organizes cabaret, exhibitions, lectures, readings and other events such as the annual Ringelnatz summer.

The association also used donations to acquire individual paintings by Ringelnatz, such as “One Evening” or “The Blue Horse” and continues to endeavor to use donations to buy new pictures by Ringelnatz and to exhibit them in the Wurzen Museum of Cultural History. In addition, the association tries to attract private art lovers, who in turn buy works by the artist in order  to make them available to the museum as permanent loans . The first permanent Joachim Ringelnatz collection in Germany, which dates back to 1948, is located in the premises of the Kulturhistorisches Museum in Wurzen, with an extensive range of museum educational events and projects on Joachim Ringelnatz.

After [date] in 2019 pending renovation of Ringelnatz birthplace has set itself the association aimed to Ringelnatz-friends from all over Germany to open the birthplace again as a literary culture, commemorative, meeting and research site.
