Joachim Förste

Joachim Förste (born February 18, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German former university professor and politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Berlin city council in 1990 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1952, Joachim Förste completed a teaching degree with a state examination in 1956 at the Potsdam University of Education and was awarded a Dr.-Ing. In 1961 with the thesis A contribution to the wave-mechanical theory of a moving elementary particle . PhD. He completed his habilitation in 1966 at the TH Magdeburg on calculation methods for the absorption of gases by liquid films, and from 1970 he held an honorary professorship there.

From 1957 Förste worked at the Central Institute for Mathematics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . As a result of German reunification, he came to the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics when it was re-established in 1992 .
