Joana Maria Gorvin Prize

The Joana Maria Gorvin Prize is awarded every five years by five male members of the Performing Arts section of the Academy of Arts (Berlin) . It was donated by Maximilian B. Bauer in memory of his wife, the actress Joana Maria Gorvin , and is endowed with 50,000 German marks, then 25,000 euros. The prize is to be given to a woman who has achieved an outstanding performance in the theater of the German-speaking area.
