Joel Blahnik

Joel Blahnik (born June 7, 1938 in Fish Creek , Wisconsin ) is an American composer and teacher of Czech descent.

Blahnik studied at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music at Appleton , Wisconsin, and graduated in 1961.

After completing his studies, he worked from 1961 to 1993 as a music teacher (instrumental teacher) in public schools in the state of Wisconsin. He has also given seminars and lectures at all levels of difficulty at over 250 schools in Wisconsin and the Midwest. He has received several awards for these achievements.

He is a co-founder of the Czech Music Alliance in the United States of America and in 1989 founded Alliance Publications Inc. , in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, which has set itself the task of promoting compositions by Czech and Slovak composers and making them known in the USA .

Since he finished his pedagogical work in 1993, he has been working as a freelance composer.
