Johann Sattler (diplomat)

Johann Sattler (born before 1994) is an Austrian diplomat. Since April 2016 he has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Tirana, Albania.

Life

Johann Sattler studied political science and Slavic studies at the Universities of Innsbruck / Prague / Moscow. From 1994 to 1996 he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. In 2008 he received his doctorate from the University of Vienna .

In 1996 he joined the diplomatic service of the Republic of Austria .

From 2008 to 2013, Sattler was managing director / publisher for the WAZ media group and for Axel Springer in Moscow. Before that, he held various positions such as B. Deputy Head in the Office of the Secretary General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counselor for Political Affairs at the Austrian Embassy in Washington and Cabinet Member of the EU Special Representative for Southeast Europe (Stability Pact) in Brussels.

Before that, he headed the Western Balkans Division of the Foreign Ministry in Vienna for three years.
