John Feistel (* before 1891 in Zwickau - after 1931) was a German theater actor .

Life

Feistel began his stage career in 1891 as a trainee at the court theater in Dessau, came to Elbing in 1892, from there to Oldenburg in 1893 and to the Stadttheater in Leipzig in 1894.

A year later his acting activity was interrupted by his military service (he completed his one-year volunteer year with the 3rd Train Battalion in Spandau), but in 1897 he returned to Leipzig to work. Employed only in small roles for three years, his talent as "Fritzchen" finally broke ground, in which role he attracted general attention and was henceforth considered a talented, spirited and natural actor in Leipzig.

In 1902 he was invited to a guest performance at the Hofburgtheater (“Romeo” and “Rudoff” in Rosenmontag ), but the same did not lead to any engagement. In 1902 Feistel left the Leipzig Stage Association and went on a tour to America.

His successful performances include the roles mentioned, "Mortimer", "Carlo", "Prince von Homburg", "Bellmaus", "Leon" in Weh dem who lies , "Phaon", "Feldt" in Veilchenfresser etc.

In 1932 he was still playing on Broadway.
