John Young (artist)

John Young (* 1956 in Hong Kong ) is a contemporary artist living in Melbourne , Australia .

In 1967, at the time of the Cultural Revolution in China, his parents took him to Australia. Young first studied philosophy there and later became an artist. Young opened his first exhibition in 1979, a. a. he has already presented his works at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The Bonhoeffer exhibition in Harlem can be seen permanently in the Erlöserkirche in Bamberg and includes a hand-knotted silk carpet as well as three prints and eight chalk drawings on black primed paper. This exhibition was initially part of the Circles exhibition , which took place in Bamberg a. a. was coordinated by the gallery owner Alexander Ochs-Barwinek, who lives in Berlin and comes from Bamberg. Young and Ochs-Barwinek then donated the works exhibited there to the Erlöserkirche for a permanent exhibition.
