In the mission menu, the player always has the choice between one of the two following multi-purpose combat aircraft available in the Joint Strike Fighter program: the Lockheed Martin X-35 and the Boeing X-32 . The player can be accompanied (adjustable) by up to three AI wingmen. In addition to the option to play a campaign, you can alternatively fly a pure dogfight or search for other players online and fly against them.

Further features are: If there is only a LAN network and no Internet , the previously installed game can also be started without CD-ROM and can thus be played against each other in the network. However, the host computer always needs a data carrier for the game.
