Revista de Occidente

Revista de Occidente is a Spanish cultural and scientific publication published since 1923 by the José Ortega-y-Gasset Foundation ( Fundación José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón ) in Madrid under ISSN  0034-8635 .

José Ortega y Gasset founded the magazine in 1923 and headed the editorial department until his death in 1955. The range of the Revista de Occidente is both Europe and Latin America . Since its inception, it has published eleven issues a year, with a corresponding double issue for July and August. The Revista de Occidente is a member of the association of cultural magazines, the Asociación de Revistas Culturales de España (short: ARCE). The editorial team, headed by José Varela Ortega , now consists of around 15 full-time editors. The publishing house is owned by the Ortega family of journalists. The circulation is around 104,000 copies per year.
