Joseph Cai Bingrui ( Chinese  蔡炳瑞 , Pinyin Cài Bǐngruì ; born September 15, 1966 ) is Catholic bishop of Xiamen , Fujian Province .

Life

In 1985 he began his studies at the Sheshan Seminary near Shanghai . He was ordained a priest on August 15, 1992. He then returned to his hometown in Xiamen. The diocese of Xiamen became vacant after the death of Bishop Joseph Prince Tu Ngoc in 1991. In 1996 he was elected diocesan bishop.

In June 2009 he was elected Bishop of Xiamen by the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association . The Holy See also issued a statement appointing him Bishop of the Diocese of Xiamen. His enthronement ceremony took place on May 8, 2010.
