Joseph Zbukvic

Joseph Zbukvic (* 1952 in Zagreb ) is an Australian watercolor painter .

Before Zbukvic emigrated to Australia in 1970, he studied literature and languages ​​to become a teacher in Zagreb at the request of his parents. In Melbourne he changed his course of study at his own request and graduated as an industrial designer in 1974 .

During his first years in Australia, he discovered watercolor painting as his passion. He won his first art competition in 1975, and in 1977 he had his first solo exhibition at the Eastgate Gallery in Melbourne. Soon after, he decided to devote his life entirely to watercolor painting.

To date, Zbukvic has won over 200 national and international prizes and presented his pictures to an audience in over 40 solo exhibitions, mainly in Australia, but also in London and San Antonio. He regularly gives painting courses in different places around the world. He has also published two books and various painting courses on DVD. There is a signature series of his favorite brushes.
