The Journal for Consumer Protection and Food Safety ( JVL for short , English: Journal of Consumer Protection and Food Safety ) is a scientific journal published by the German Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety . The journal has been published by the scientific Springer Verlag since 2006 with four issues per year, with one or two special issues often appearing each year.
The journal "publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles in the fields of food, feed, consumer goods, pesticides, veterinary drugs, genetic engineering and consumer health protection."
The articles appear partly in German, partly in English. In addition to the scientific part, there are official notices, reports and announcements from the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety. Since 2009 the journal has been listed by Thomson ISI (Institute for Scientific Information), which calculates an impact factor from the citations in the journal.
