European Journal of Archeology

The European Journal of Archeology is the publication organ of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA). The journal has been published since 1993, volumes 1–5 were published until 1997 under the name Journal of European Archeology . Three issues are published per year, currently (2011) by Robin Skeates , Department of Archeology at the University of Durham , the successor to Alan Saville . The journal is peer-reviewed , so the articles are peer-reviewed by other scientists before publication.

The aim of the journal is to promote scientific exchange in the archaeological environment about a new understanding of Europe and the related interpretation of archaeological finds and findings . In addition to scientific questions, the position of archeology in society, the organization of archaeological research in Europe and related ethical problems will be discussed.

In addition to the magazine, the EAA publishes a newsletter ( The European Archaeologist ) twice a year .
