Journal of Recreational Mathematics

The Journal of Recreational Mathematics (J. Recreat. Math.) Was a quarterly journal for entertainment mathematics published from 1968 to 2014 .

It was first published by Greenwood Periodicals in New York and later by the Baywood Publishing Company. The editor was originally Joseph Madachy (1927-2014), who from 1961 to 1964 also published a forerunner Recreational Mathematics Magazine . Other editors were Harry L. Nelson, Charles Ashbacher, Colin Singleton and Lamarr Widmer (who was the last editor with Ashbacher). One of the co-editors was Leo Moser . Issue 2 of Volume 38 was published last.

The ISSN was 0022-412X.

Charles Ashbacher continued publication at CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform by publishing a number of volumes Topics in Recreational Mathematics as ebooks from 2015. He also published an index of contributions to the Journal of Recreational Mathematics in 2016.
