The Journal of the American Mathematical Society (JAMS) is a peer-reviewed mathematical journal from the American Mathematical Society that has been published quarterly since 1988.

Research articles in all areas of pure and applied mathematics are published.

Editors are Brian Conrad , Maryam Mirzakhani , Sergey Fomin , Simon Donaldson , Assaf Naor and Igor Rodnianski (2016).

In 2016 the journal had an impact factor of 2,816 and in 2006 of 2,550, at that time number 1 according to the impact factor. It is one of the leading mathematics journals. In the period from 1981 to 2006, it was ranked 8th according to Impact Factor, but was also only founded in 1988.

The ISSN is 0894-0347.
