The international youth competition jugend creativ has been held annually since 1970 and is the largest youth competition in the world with an entry in the Guinness Book of Records . Around 1.3 million children and young people take part every year. Children from the 1st to the 13th grade can participate. Participation is possible in the disciplines of painting / image design (from 1st grade) and short film (from 5th grade). The best work is awarded first on a local, then on a regional, national and ultimately on an international level. The competition theme changes annually.

In Germany , jugend creativ is organized by many participating Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks . In Finland , France , Italy (South Tyrol), Luxembourg , Austria and Switzerland , where the competition also takes place, the local cooperative banks organize the competition.

The competition takes up important topics and events of the time, in which children and young people are particularly interested. It enables a creative examination of topics that change every year. With youth creativ, the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken would like to offer a contribution to the personal development of young people and complement and support the schools in their educational mission. Children and adolescents should become young global citizens who, with curiosity and interest, help shape their society and thus their future. Jugend creativ is part of a broad social commitment by the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken.
