Schleswig-Holstein youth development organization

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schleswig-Holstein youth development organization was founded in 1949 by the state of Schleswig-Holstein for vocational training for young people.

In December 1949, the state government of Schleswig-Holstein passed the law on youth development. The minister for popular education was in charge of it. This initiative on the part of the state was a reaction to the influx of refugees into the state of Schleswig-Holstein after the Second World War . It was not only an educational policy measure, but also a socio-political effort, as it was necessary to protect the girls and young women from sexual assault by members of the liberation armies and at the same time to create training opportunities in a flat country. Schleswig-Holstein was shaped by agriculture. Crafts and industry were only to be found around the independent cities such as Lübeck, Hamburg, Flensburg and Neumünster.

The law on youth development brought together already existing institutions under this law and initiated the establishment of new institutions across the country. More than 100 courses were already in place at the beginning of the 1950s. On the 50th anniversary in December 1999, 30 of these still existed under the umbrella of the Schleswig Holstein youth development organization. However, the number of places remained the same, so that one can conclude that the facilities have become larger. Modern professional fields such as trade and administration or care have been added to the former manual occupational fields.

While education (training and school) was in the foreground in the initial phase, a period of encouragement followed. The qualification must be identified around the 50th anniversary. Currently (2010) the ability as well as the comprehensive qualification with all key qualifications is at the core of the efforts of staff and customers.
