Youth Film (Association)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Youth film e. V. was founded in 2004 by filmmakers from Hamburg . It is a recognized sponsor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The association is not subsidized; all members work on a voluntary basis.

Purpose and activities

The purpose of youth film is to "support children and young people with the implementation of film projects, to strengthen their media education, their creativity, their sense of responsibility, their independence, their artistic and social skills, to support their qualification and their career choice, to enable a sense of achievement" . (Extract from the statutes)

In workshops, children and young people are instructed in how to make their own short films in teams. Only professional video equipment is used for shooting and editing.

To date, youth films have won over 100 awards at national and international festivals. The most successful film with 8 prizes is the commercial for ancient languages “Da pecuniam!”. Youth group trips are organized regularly for these competitions.

In addition to the film workshops during the school holidays, there are cooperations with schools, foundations, sponsors, institutions and leisure facilities.

The members of Jugendfilm are film professionals and exclusively freelancers. With authors, dramaturges, journalists, cameramen, directors, actors and cutters, the different professional areas of a film production are covered.
