Julius Griese (* before 1879 in Colberg , Pomerania Province ; † after 1879) was an inventor.

He was the inventor of a helicopter-like flying machine based on the counter-rotating coaxial principle, which was registered with the Imperial Patent Office at the time in 1879 and operated with muscle power, and which can be seen as the forerunner of the Focke concept from the 1930s. The patent was registered on September 21, 1880 under No. 10842 in Class 77, Sports Issued. It is the first German patent for a helicopter-like flying machine.

A scale model is located in the helicopter museum in Bückeburg .
