The Young Industry is a network of Austrian young entrepreneurs and executives .

history

It was founded as the “youth section” of the Federation of Industrialists in 1947. a. Marius Mautner-Markhof and Robert von Schoeller , who came from families of Austrian industrialists. The young industry has developed over the decades into a politically active group of young entrepreneurs and managers.

The young industry consists of eight regional groups with around 1000 members aged 18 to 40 years. The chairmen of the eight regional associations are represented on the federal executive board. Federal chairman has been Andreas Wimmer since 2017 , before that from 2009 to 2017 for two electoral terms Therese Niss . Martin Ohneberg held the office from 2002 to 2009 .

The young industry forms a network that positions itself on current and future industrial and socio-political issues. It cooperates with the Federation of Industry and other youth organizations. It offers regular events in which z. B. Companies can be visited, lectures take place and study trips organized.

In 2011, the group had 1000 deliberately incorrect copies of Kafka's “ Castle ” printed under the code name “The BirdBase” in order to criticize the educational system. In the same year, the group made a deliberate false report about an allegedly newly founded sex school in Vienna, which was intended to stimulate a discussion about old-age security .
