Junilistan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Junilistan (in German The June List ) was a Swedish party that was founded in 2004 on the occasion of the European elections by the economist Nils Lundgren and the former President of the Reichsbank, Lars Wohlin .

The political message of the June List was a Eurosceptic attitude. She rejected the EU constitutional treaty and called for a referendum on it. They also wanted a formal exemption for Sweden from the EMU , in which Sweden does not participate.

In the 2004 European elections , the party received 14.5 percent of the Swedish vote and three out of 19 Swedish seats in the European Parliament . After this remarkable success, the party finally announced in October 2005 that it would also run for the next Reichstag elections in September 2006. This election turned out to be a definite defeat for the June List with only 0.47% of the vote, well below the four percent necessary for entry into the Swedish parliament. The Junilistan worked at EU level in the European party EU Democrats .

In the Reichstag elections on September 19, 2010 , the party did not run, but still received 41 votes as a write-in . For the European elections in 2014 , the party became active again under new leadership - the new party leader was the economist Jörgen Appelgren. It failed with 0.31% when it entered the European Parliament. In October 2014, the party announced that it would be inactive until further notice.
