Justin Zongo

Justin Zongo (* 1969 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast) is a bus driver of Ivorian origin who works in public bus services in the German city of Rüsselsheim .

He became known nationwide through television reports on ARD, HR, SWF, ZDF, RTL, Vox and NTV, because he entertains his passengers during the journey by singing African folk songs, rapping, beatboxing and making numerous cheerful comments. In the TV programs it was also reported that Zongo is very popular because of his general friendliness and cheerfulness and enjoys cult status in the city with children and young people, but also with adults as "Captain Justin".

In February 2013 he was a talk guest on Frank Elstner's SWR television talk show People of the Week . Even before the reports of the major media, amateur videos about him on the Internet had audience numbers in the millions.

Justin Zongo came to Germany in 1997 as an asylum seeker , in 2006 he moved to Rüsselsheim, where he worked as a bus driver in city bus transport from 2009 to June 2014. Before that he worked in baggage handling at Frankfurt / Main Airport.

On March 1, 2013, he opened a café called Café Justin Zongo in downtown Rüsselsheim with his partner and five employees, but remained a bus driver as his main job. The café was abandoned in May 2013. He is involved in social projects such as RTL Kinderhilfe and SOS Children's Villages and donates a third of the operating profit from his café for them.

Since he has been famous, he has also given concerts as a singer and drummer etc. a. in many schools and at sporting events or in North Sea baths. He markets himself as "the black and coolest bus driver" with a professional website, his own YouTube channel, autograph cards that he hands out on the bus, a professionally covered car and Facebook pages. In his media he has also established his personal "official" greeting, which reads: "Kuzi! Kuziiii !!! Mua! Muaaaaaa !!!!"
