The Mutual Carinthian State Insurance (KLV for short) is an Austrian insurance company based in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee .
history
In 1899 the Carinthian Landtag decided to set up the “Carinthian State Fire Damage Insurance Company”. The aim of the insurance was to support the Carinthians (especially farmers) who had lost their livelihoods in a fire. By 1971, KLV was expanded to include other insurance lines and thus developed into a universal insurer. In 1980 the name was finally changed to Carinthian State Insurance for Mutuality .
