Quiver foundation

Quiver foundation

The quiver foundation is a foundation made of reinforced concrete with a device for receiving a support . The quiver serves to absorb bending moments and prevents the support from tilting during assembly.

The surface can be smooth, profiled or serrated and determines the approach to be chosen for the static analysis. The quiver can be embedded in the foundation block or stand on the foundation block. The geometry of the foundation is determined by the static requirements (vertical loads, horizontal forces and bending moments). After the support has been installed, the socket foundation is grouted with concrete or mortar.

Quiver foundations are also referred to as sleeve foundations.
