The construction machinery manufacturer Kurt Kögel produced tractors from 1949 to 1954. The company was based in Munich on Nymphenburgerstrasse.

The tractors from Kögel weren't really typical ready-made trucks. We speak of a ready-made tractor when all important assemblies have been purchased and only assembled. At Kögel, at least the sprung front axle and the available power lift were in-house designs.

In the case of small series production, a wide variety of types and the procurement of engines and gearboxes from different manufacturers, one cannot speak of rational production. Although the components often came from well-known manufacturers, the logistical effort was enormous in relation to the number of pieces. The transmissions came either from Renk or ZF . The list of manufacturers for the motors used is a lot longer.

The following types were available from 1949 to 1951: The Kögel K 15 (15 PS) had the MWM engine type KDW 215 E, the K 22 (25 PS) the MWM KD 215 Z, and the K 26 (25 PS) the MWM KD 415 Z. The K 28 (28/30 HP) had the TD 15 engine from Südbremse . The K 25 (22 hp) and K 36 (36 hp) had the Henschel engines 515 DF and 516 DF. Only the K 45 (45 hp) had the same engine as the K 36.

In 1952 other types were added, such as the KG (18 hp) with the Güldner engine 2 D 15 and the KG 22 (22 hp) with the Güldner 2 DA. The KM 40 (40 PS) received the MWM engine KDW 415 D, the KM 30 (30 PS) the KDW 415 Z, the KK 55 (55 PS) the 4 D 10 HN from Kämper . In 1953 and 1954 the KG 12 (12 HP) with Güldner 1 DA, the KG 18 (17 HP) with Güldner 2 DN and finally the new edition of the K 25 (25 HP) now with Güldner 2 BN followed.

The company had the largest sales in 1950, when 210 newly registered Kögel tugs reached 19th place in the registration statistics (in comparison, the market leader Deutz at that time, 6257 tugs were registered in Germany in the same year). In 1963, about 10 years after the end of production, 725 Kögel tractors were still registered. In January 2006, 19 vehicles were still registered in Germany - or again as oldtimers.
