General

The Cologne Badminton Club Blau-Gold was founded in 1956 . Here, in a central location in downtown Cologne, both team players, advanced and beginners can play badminton. Training opportunities are also offered on the right bank of the Rhine, in Cologne-Höhenhaus and also in Cologne-Zollstock. One of the special features of the Cologne Badminton Club Blau Gold is that the club provides both natural and plastic balls for training and play.

history

The Cologne Badminton Club Blau Gold eV is one of the oldest and most traditional badminton clubs in Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2006 the association celebrated its 50th anniversary. During these years the association has both organized and attended many events. Many contacts and friendships with domestic and foreign badminton clubs were made.

successes

The club played at times in the highest German league, the Oberliga. The Cologne Badminton City Championships in the 1960s were not determined by any other club as much as the KFC. In 1963, Marlies Voit brought the first German championship to Cologne in the senior class . In the period from 1976 to 1981, the KFC's pupils and young people dominated national events. Uwe Scherpen , Axel Schönfelder, to name just a few, brought various German championships - also with the youth team - to the KFC.

The Cologne Badminton Club Blau Gold eV 1956 uses two halls for badminton: the “Thuleweg” hall (on the right bank of the Rhine / Höhenhaus) and the hall “Am Trutzenberg” (left bank of the Rhine / city center):
