Körte school (Königsberg)

The Körte school was a public school for girls in the old town of Langgasse 43 in Königsberg in Prussia . The school sponsor was the city of Königsberg. It was named after the mayor of Königsberg, Siegfried Körte .

history

The Körte-Oberlyzeum was formed by amalgamating the lyceums of Seydel in Theaterstrasse and Günther on Steindamm and in 1925 moved into the vacant building of the former old town high school . The Körte School was a girls' school that led its female students in a modern language and natural science branch up to the Abitur. The school building was destroyed by the air raids on Königsberg at the end of August 1944 .
