Jirye artists' colony

The Jirye artists' colony in Andong , Gyeongsangbuk-do Province , South Korea , was founded by the Korean poet Kim Won-gil . When he learned that his home village was about to be flooded because of a dam, he saved an ensemble of old houses from the 17th century from destruction. They were reorganized in Andong. A lively artists' village has emerged there.
