K-Tino , formerly also Catino , (born October 12, 1966 in Yaoundé , Cameroon ; actually Cathérine Edoa Ngoa ) is a Cameroonian singer and dancer and a popular, but also controversial, representative of the Bikutsi .

Life

K-Tino grew up in the Nkolndongo district . Her father passed away early.

She first became known to a larger audience in the 1990s. Among other things, they are also called “femme du peuple”, “mama bonheur”, “mama la joie” and “la force de la vie et de la musique camerounaise”. Her dance style is a very expressive shoulder and hip dance, which is sometimes referred to by critics as excessive and obscene. Likewise, her lyrics deal with explicit subjects. To the accusation that it is vulgar, K-Tino replies: “Dire que ma musique est obscène, c'est dire que la langue ewondo est obscène” ( To say that my music is obscene is like saying Ewondo -Language is obscene ).

Services

K-Tino is committed to the fight against AIDS. Her song Condom, c'est bon contributes to this. As she herself says, she is the mother of numerous children whose exact number she does not give. She adopted many of her children.
