The KSV Böhlerwerk was an Austrian football club , which was active from autumn 1946 to summer 2014 in the Austrian football leagues. In 2014 the club was merged with ATUS FC Rosenau and has been active under the name FC Sonntagberg ever since .

history

The association was founded in March 1946, then still under the name Red Star Böhlerwerk . In autumn 1946, the team entered the 2nd class in Ybbstal under the direction of trainer Adolf Hürner . Since there was no suitable playing field in Böhlerwerk at that time, the first games were played in the neighboring town of Waidhofen / Ybbs .

In the following years, the club was provided with a plot of land in Böhlerwerk by the company Böhler Ybbstalwerke , on which a sports facility could be built, which was finally completed in 1957. During this time the name of the association was changed to KSV Böhlerwerk . In the 1973/74 season, the club won the Lower Austrian Cup, and a year later they made it to the Regionalliga Ost, the third highest division in Austria. In this league, the club held until the 1977/78 season, in which they were relegated last.

After 67 years of gaming, it was decided in 2013 for economic reasons to merge the two football clubs KSV Böhlerwerk and ATUS FC Rosenau , both of which were active in the community of Sonntagberg , and to continue them under the name FC Sonntagberg .
