Kaarz (park in front of the castle)

Kaarz is a village in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district and belongs to the community of Weitendorf (near Brüel) , which is administered by the Sternberger Seenlandschaft office, based in Sternberg.

location

Kaarz is a good two kilometers south-southwest of Weitendorf and three kilometers northwest of the Dabel training area . After Sternberg in the East there are about eight kilometers. The federal motorway 14 in the west is 15 kilometers away.

history

Kaarz belonged canonically in 1541 to the lost parish of Powerstorf. In 1824 the place was assigned to the Sternberg office by the lower court and was looked after by the city judge in Brüel .

Worth seeing

Kaarz Castle , which was built in 1873 and is now (2012) with a large park, is well worth a visit . In the park you will find rare trees such as tulip trees, sequoias and also a mausoleum.
