With choppy sea , a surface area of the sea is called, the wind, waves or water currents , is uneven moved against each other from different directions meet. The term comes from the sailor's language . Other names are Kabbelung or Kabbelsee .

A choppy sea is characterized by a flat but restless wave pattern made up of short, mutually overlapping waves.
