A cable support , also known as a cable carrier , is a person employed by television stations . As a rule, cable assistants are hired as student assistants by television broadcasters or production companies. Her work primarily involves wearing camera cables so that cameramen in TV studios have unrestricted freedom of movement and the cable does not make any noise when it is pulled across the studio floor. In the case of outside broadcasts, cable aids also set up the television technology (especially the cables to the OB van ) at the respective venues.
