Cable protection tubes, alongside older power cables without protection

A cable conduit is used to protect underground power and telecommunications cables from mechanical influences and moisture.

Cable protection pipes are either installed as empty conduits when building a structure in order to pull a cable through later, or built around existing lines. In the latter case, the cable protection tube consists of two semicircular shells that are placed around the cable.

material

Cable protection pipes are usually made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (HDPE). PVC cable protection pipes are usually produced as rod goods. Cable protection pipes made of HDPE are available as bar stock as well as on the drum.
