Cabinet Obote II
The Obote II cabinet was formed in Uganda on April 15, 1966 after Apollo Milton Obote assumed the office of President of Uganda . It replaced the Obote I cabinet , which Obote had formed after taking office as Prime Minister on April 30, 1962. After Obote took office as president, the office of prime minister was abolished and the government was formed as a presidential cabinet until the office of prime minister was reinstated on August 1, 1980. The Obote II cabinet remained in office until Obote was overthrown by Idi Amin on January 25, 1971, and was then replaced by the Amin cabinet .
