The Kaisers Gute Backstube GmbH is a family owned company with 40 specialty stores in Baden-Wuerttemberg, headquartered in Ehrenkirchen near Freiburg im Breisgau (as of 2017).

history

The company has been family-owned since 1948. The company is managed by Waltraud and Wolfgang Kaiser, who took over the bakery business from their parents Frieda and Ernst Kaiser in 1979 and initiated the expansion. Since 2007, daughter Birgit Kaiser and Gottfried Faller have also been part of the company's management as managing directors for production.

490 people are employed, over 329 of them in sales. The head office is located in the Ehrenkirchen industrial park. There are 115 employees in production and 29 in office and administration. Kaiser has a trainee quota of 10%.

Concept and range

The basis are the bakeries with a coffee bar. The bakeries with themed cafés offer an extension; they differ optically in terms of their equipment from conventional bakery shops and have their own design lines. The Organic in Lörrach made it into the DLV Storebook in 2016. There are also the flagship stores "derKaiser" and "dieKaiserin" in Freiburg, where Kaiser operates as a bakery, café and restaurant. There is also a catering service with a mobile espresso bar. Since July 2016, the company has also been operating the historic Gasthaus Krone in Ehrenkirchen, where it offers Baden cuisine in a sophisticated atmosphere. Two apartments with overnight accommodation are attached to the restaurant.
