history

The company started in 2001 as the internal payments department of bwin.party. It was tasked with developing the payment platform and guaranteeing smooth payment processing for clients.

In 2005 a start was made to offer other external companies the service of a technical connection to the acquirers and payment providers.

In 2006 the subsidiary Vincento was founded with the intention of entering the European market for prepaid cards. The service required an eMoney license, which Vincento acquired at a later date.

In 2007, CQR Payment Solutions was founded as an independent company with the aim of acting as an independent payment service provider in the market.

In 2008 Vincento got the e-money license from the then FSA (now FCA) in Great Britain and became a Principal Member of Mastercard. A Principal Member may both issue credit cards himself and act as an acquirer. Vincento and CQR began to issue a prepaid card with an associated eWallet. That year, CQR also began processing payments for customers outside of the gaming sector and became a Principal Member of Visa.

In 2010 CQR processed transactions with a total value of 2 billion euros with more than 100 employees in London and Vienna.

In 2013 the company was renamed Kalixa and all parts of the business were brought together under the new name.

In 2014 Kalixa acquired PXP Solutions. With this acquisition, the total processing volume of the group has grown to 10 billion euros.

In 2015 the Kalixa Payment Group Limited was founded to create a new future-oriented company structure that should enable a worldwide operation as a payment service provider. Today all subsidiaries belonging to the group are located under the Kalixa Payment Group Ltd.

In 2016, Kalixa Payment Group Ltd said goodbye to the issuing business in the Business2Consumer area and discontinued the Kalixa Pay prepaid card. The Business2Business area will be continued.
