Cold self-adhesive bitumen waterproofing membrane

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cold self-adhesive bitumen sealing membranes (KSK bitumen membrane for short) are a means of waterproofing buildings ( black tub ). They are standardized in accordance with DIN 18195 and consist of plastic-modified bitumen that is applied to a tear-resistant HDPE carrier film. They are suitable for the load cases of soil moisture and non- accumulating seepage water. KSK membranes bridge cracks in the masonry and are resistant to cold and heat. The sheets can be loaded immediately after they have been glued on, ie the construction pit can be filled immediately (after the protective layer has been laid).

More expensive in terms of material than the bitumen sheeting , the advantage of the cold self-adhesive bitumen sheeting is the shorter processing time.

The self-adhesive waterproofing membrane is rolled over the entire surface, overlapping and crease-free on the substrate, whereby the protective layer is removed. Sheets can also be used at slightly sub-zero temperatures.
